Islands in Focus- Photo Contest

The Department of Art and Culture, UT Administration of A&N Islands is organising a photo competition on the themes related to Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The competition is being organised in order to create awareness on the history, beauty, culture and heritage of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and capture the same. The contest gives an incredible opportunity to the participants to showcase their creativity, storytelling skills and passion for photography while promoting the unique charm of these Islands.

Participants are encouraged to capture the islands' breathtaking landscapes and historical places.

The themes may focus on the natural beauty & heritage, history, composite culture, flora, fauna, marine biodiversity, tourism and sustainable practices of these Islands, capturing the essence of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

GRATIFICATION – The top three winners will receive a certificate and recognition will be given at the UT level with a reward from the Andaman & Nicobar Administration.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. The competition is open to all interested applicants.
2. All entries must be submitted on andaman.mygov.in. Entries submitted through any other medium/mode would not be considered for evaluation.
3. The participants should make sure that his/her MyGov profile accurate and updated for further communication.
4. Each participant will be allowed to submit only one photograph.
5. Entries once submitted cannot be withdrawn.
6. The photograph should be in JPG or PNG format only with high resolution with minimum 300 DPI.
7. Only colour Geo-tagged photograph (maximum 10 MB size)will be accepted.
8. The applicant shall submit the Theme and Short description of the Photo in a PDF document.
9. The Photograph should be original. Copied, photoshopped or edited pictures/selfies will not be accepted.
10. The winning entries would be the intellectual property of the organizer, and the winners shall not exercise any right over it.
11. All the entry received by the organiser will be placed in front of a Selection Committee for final selection. The decision of the committee will be final and binding to all the entries. No requests relating to claims of re-evaluation of the entries will be considered.
12. Organizers will not accept any responsibility for entries that are lost, are late or incomplete or have not been transmitted due to computer error or any other error beyond the organizer’s reasonable control. Please note proof of submission of the entry is not proof of receipt of the same.
13. Participant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of the photographs submitted and the photographs should not have been previously published in any print and digital media.
14. The entry must not contain any provocative, objectionable or inappropriate content.
15. By participation, participant is submitting his/her no objection for screening of this photo for jury. If selected the photo will become the sole property of the UT Administration of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the UT Administration of Andaman & Nicobar Islands may use this film for any campaign for promoting the cause of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
16. All disputes/ legal complaints are subject to the jurisdiction of Andaman and Nicobar islands only. Expenses incurred for this purpose will be borne by the parties themselves.
17. By participating in the contest, the participants shall abide by all the terms and conditions of this contest, including any amendments or further updates.
18. The terms and conditions henceforth shall be governed by Indian laws and the judgments of the Indian judicial system.

UNDERTAKING

By participation in the contest, the participants agree to the following Undertaking:-
a) I understand and agree to abide by all the rules, regulations, and guidelines set forth by the organizers of the competition.
b) I confirm that all photographs submitted by me are my original work and do not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any other individual or entity. I have obtained all necessary permissions from any persons depicted in the photographs.
c) I grant Andaman and Nicobar Administration the right to use my submitted photographs for promotional and marketing purposes related to the competition, without any compensation.
d) I acknowledge that the decision of the judges in relation to the competition will be final and binding, and I will not dispute the outcome in any manner.
e) I accept full responsibility for any actions, claims, damages, or liabilities arising out of my participation in the competition. I will indemnify and hold Andaman and Nicobar Administration harmless from any such claims.
f) I understand that Andaman and Nicobar Administration reserves the right to disqualify any entry that violates the competition rules or is deemed inappropriate.
g) This undertaking is binding on me and shall remain in effect throughout the duration of the competition.
